Since this is the first newsletter, a little background on Ms. Portman, should probably be in order.
She was discovered in a pizza parlour, in New York by a modelling scout at age 12. She dabbled in modelling before deciding to try acting. It was then that she got her first major role, in Luc Besson's *The Proffessional*.

THE PROFFESSIONAL (1994)

BEAUTIFAL GIRLS (1995)
Natalie plays Marty. A 13 year old girl, who lives in a small town. Anyhow, a 30-something year old guy falls in love with her. As much as you want to think the guy is sick for falling in love with a 13 year old girl... you can't really blame him can you? I mean... my god, its Natalie! dir. Ted Demme

DEVELOPING (1995)
A short film she signed on to do, about her character's mom getting breast cancer. This one is nearly impossible to see if you live in Canada, and is only available on the SUNDANCE channel in the US. You can buy it off the internet for about 20 bucks at Amazon.com .... dir.

HEAT (1995)
The Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Val Kilmer movie, which holds the record as the most gunfire in any movie ever. Anyhow, Natalie is in this movie for the better part of a second, playing Al Pacino's daughter. dir. Michael Mann - (Last of the Mohicans)

MARS ATTACKS (1996)
So Mars attacks the Earth... the President messes up over and over, and lots of people die... In fact, nearly everyone dies! Anyhow, I was adequetely amused, except that Natalie is only in three scenes! Although her final scene made it worth the wait! She played Taffy, the President's daughter. dir. Tim Burton - (who of course also did Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Nighmare Before X-Mas)

EVERYONE SAYS I LOVE YOU (1996)
Okay... so in this movie, Natalie, wears a bikini, a school girl outfit, AND jumps around a lot because she's excited... can this be the greatest movie ever made? Well no... but it's still pretty cool. And it's a musical! God Bless Woody Allen. Anyhow, unlike other musicals, the actors sang all their parts. Including Natalie... even though she can't really sing.... she still looked pretty darn cute trying though.

*THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK (1996-1997)
Natalie decided to give movies a break, and go on stage, for the adaptation of Anne Frank's Diary. It was a Broadway play, in New York's famour Music Box Theatre... okay, I don't know whether its really famous or not, but she got rave reviews. Anyhow, the play got a lot more news, when the girl who played Natalie's older sister, who was 18 at the time, got married to Macauly Culkin. Anyhow, I say this with all due respect... Anne Frank is one of the most influential people of our century... is justifiably admired around the world, and without a doubt, deserves our respect for her bravery, and kindness for living through what she lived through... but seriously... Natalie looks nothing like her... and its obviously because of the NH factor... (The Natalie Hotness factor)

{although the seriousness of the subject matter, probably makes it harder to get all worked up)
STAR WARS EPISODE I : THE PHANTOM MENACE (1999)
Apparently this movie tried to answer "What is the Matrix?" or something to that effect. Its really pissing me off how this movie hasn't really gotten any media attention, or any hype. Oh well, I guess it'll be the sleeper hit of the summer. Anyhow, Natalie plays TWO roles. Her Royal Highness, Queen Amidala, leader of the Naboo... and her Hand-Maiden, Padme... contrary to what stupid people say, Natalie plays both roles ALL THE TIME. Except for the one scene towards the end, where Natalie reveals herself as the decoy back at Naboo. Anyhow, the other great thing about Natalie being in Star Wars, is all the cool Natalie merchandise now available! I'll present my full list at the end of the newsletter. Oh yeah, and Natalie, along with "The Man", Ewan McGreggor, have signed on to star in the other two SW prequels. dir. George Lucas - (Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi)

ANYWHERE BUT HERE (1999)
Natalie is starring in this movie, along with Susan Sarandon, as a girl who has troubles with her mom, whehn they're moving to a new place... Blah Blah Blah... it sounds like a TOTAL chick flick, with a bunch of STUPID emotional sob scenes... I really LOATHE these types of movies.... Yeah... i'll see you in line at the box-office too =) Other things of note, Natalie dons the bikini one more time for this movie! Yes... i'll be watching it twice now.... its headed for release this October. dir. Wayne Wang - (The Joy Luck Club)
NATALIE CONTENT (N/A)
Anyhow, that does it for this newsletter, except for two things...
The List of Natalie Star Wars stuff I have...
1. A 12-inch Queen Amidala cardboard cut-out.
2. The Queen Amidala action figure, with two laser guns.
3. The Queen Amidala Magnet
4. The Queen Amidala Pizza Hut Magnet
5. The Queen Amidala 18-month calender.
6. The Queen Amidala, 24-inch, dress up doll.
And the final thing, of course being the Natalie Picture... i have 200-something, and in each newsletter, scan down to see it. I'm not sure how often these things will be coming out, but expect something bi-weekly. Anyhow, until next time, may Natalie's force be with you.
