Natalie Portman Cast as Thumper in Live Action "Bambi"

Natalie Portman as ThumperHOLLYWOOD Wed Apr 1, 2008 06:43 AM (100% Natalie-Portman.net) - Natalie Portman has been cast to play the cute bunny rabit, Thumper, in the upcoming live action Bambi movie.  Portman joins a cast that includes Zac Effon as Bambi, Samuel L. Jackson, and just-announced Mickey Rourke according to Hollywood insiders.  EW.com was first to report Portman being approached for the role after Scarlett Johansson stepped aside due to other movie obligations.

A representative for Portman states, "We're excited about it.  With today's special effects, Natalie can easily pull off a carrot-eating rabbit."
The live action adaptation of this classic Disney tale is set for theaters in 2011.
