E-mail Print
(100% Natalie-Portman.net) - The Phantom Menace failed to beat the 3 day opening weekend record netting 61.8 million Friday through Saturday. The Lost World retains the opening weekend crown at $72 million. As expected, the Phantom Menace broke box office records for a 5 day opening earning an estimated $102.7 million with the previous record holder being The Lost World at $98.8 million. The Phantom Menace already broke the opening day record on Wednesday at $28.5 million beating the Lost World at $26.1. With a couple small battles won and another lost, the big battle remains to be the all time box office record holder in ticket sales which Titanic holds the domestic gross at $600 million.
