Doesn't exactly sound like the cast of a non-stop, over the top action film does it? Well, you better believe it. WANTED starts and doesn't stop – you'll be on the edge of your seat, well, at least until you move to the middle of your seat. I'm kidding of course, seriously, this film is going to kick your ass.

|
|
|
Saturday, 14 June 2008 08:44 |
(Press TV, Iran) - Scottish actor James McAvoy has denied rumors that he will play Bilbo Baggins in the movie adaptation of JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit.
"It's not true," said the star of Atonement and The Last King of Scotland. "It's all internet rumoring and nothing else I'm afraid. Sorry."
Guillermo del Toro was confirmed in April as director of The Hobbit and a second film, which takes place in the 60 years between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
Peter Jackson, who directed the hugely successful Rings trilogy, will be the executive producer of the two films. Sir Ian Holm played Bilbo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings.
Sir Ian McKellen, who played Gandalf in the movie trilogy, is the only actor that has confirmed he would reprise his role in The Hobbit and the bridge film.
The Hobbit and its sequel are scheduled to be released in 2011 and 2012.

Playing Kurt Cobain Not Nirvana For James McAvoy, Actor Says Rumors Are False |
|
|
|
Wednesday, 05 December 2007 16:00 |
by James Montgomery (MTV) - By now, you’ve probably heard — and lamented — the rumors that James McAvoy, he of Mr. Tumnus fame, had been cast to play Kurt Cobain in an upcoming bio-pic, one based on Charles Cross’ ultra-morose 2001 tome “Heavier Than Heaven” and executive-produced by the late Nirvana frontman’s Widow, Courtney Love. But could the rumors be trusted? We finally got the definitive answer this week.
Of course, the McAvoy/Cobain rumblings came equipped with various quotes (attributed to shady “sources close to the production”) which blathered that “James … is the perfect choice to play Kurt Cobain,” lending a certain air of authenticity. And when “Troy” writer David Benioff’s name also became attached to the project, well, we began to resolve ourselves to the fact that the whole thing might be true.
But, we never got confirmation about any of it, so when McAvoy swung by 1515 Broadway to promote his upcoming role in “Atonement” — which he’s really great in, btw — we decided to get the information straight from the source. So James, will you be donning the tattered flannels and picking up a Fender Jag-Stang anytime soon?
“People have been saying that to me, but I haven’t heard anything about it. No.”
We are (not-so) secretly relieved to hear this. No offense to Mr. Tumnus, of course.

By Edward Guthmann (SFGATE) - When James McAvoy read the script to "Atonement," the wondrous movie version of Ian McEwan's 2001 novel, he says, "It broke my heart." He wanted so badly to play Robbie Turner, the tragic groundsman to an aristocratic English family, that he refused to read McEwan's book until he knew he had the part.
